PM Modi Visits CITD, Maluana S&T Park – Project Enabled By InknowTech
January 11, 2022Our Beloved Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is on a state visit to Mozambique as part of his 5-day tour of African countries to strengthen India’s partnership with African nations in the areas of Energy, Agriculture and ICT. The creation of the Centre for Innovation and Technological Development (CITD), Maluana Science and Technology Park and in Mozambique through a Government of India aided initiative has received wide media attention during this visit.
InKnowTech has been involved in this key strategic ICT transformation role of enabling and operating the Centre for Innovation and Technological Development (CITD), Maluana Science and Technology Park in Mozambique for the last six years. This project aims to place Mozambique firmly in the global ICT innovation map through creation of quality technology infrastructure, creation of skills and human capacity and development of incubation for start-ups. InKnowTech was responsible for conceptualization, design, implementation and operationalization of the ICT infrastructure for the CITD, Maluana Science and Technology Park.

Strategy
InKnowTech ICT strategy and transformation initiative broadly involved:
- Conceptualization and development of broad ICT strategy, Network (Wired & Wi-Fi), Data Centre, Labs, Technology Centre, etc.
- Design, planning and deployment of Network Operations Centre (NOC), Datacentre, Campus Network, Cloud and IP Surveillance systems
- IT Management services and knowledge transfer to Mozambique team

- Development of a roadmap for promotion of IT in the region
- Study of the regulatory environment and facilitation of the process
- Development of an ICT strategy to cover:
- Entrepreneurship Development
- Human Resource Capacity Development
- Infrastructure Development and creation of an Innovation Eco-system
- Conceptualization for delivery of ICT solutions for each of the strategic components namely:
- 3 Incubation centres of varied seating capacities for entrepreneurship development
- Learning/Training Centre for development of Human Resource Capacity
- Research and Development Centre including specialized labs for promoting innovation
- An SMB Area for small and medium enterprises
- Residential accommodation and guest houses
- Development of IT and Communication for both Enterprise and Service Provider needs
- Creation of processes and methodology for:
- Formation of the Tech Park Organisation
- Human Resource Requirement
- Incubation management
- Operations and administration of the Science and Technology Park
- IT Operations and Management of the entire Technology Park for a period of 1 year
